Over the course of 2024, I have come to have a better appreciation for one of the oldest social media platforms out there: LinkedIn. As much as I love Instagram and how much I used to love Twitter (now “X”), I can see that LinkedIn is truly where those in the industry live online.

LinkedIn is where I can get my latest industry news in one convenient feed. The reason I can do that is because I follow several industry media outlets on LinkedIn, many of which post regularly with timely updates. If you want to expand your newsfeed, below is a great starting point of fenestration and glazing focused publications to start following now (plus a couple of bonus accounts to follow on X).

Building Enclosure

Building Enclosure bills itself as an educational resource, covering above- and below-grade design along with technical aspects of the building envelope. Their LinkedIn page is intended for architects, engineers, consultants, specifiers and designers around the world to interact with each other and discuss the latest happenings in the industry.

Door and Window Market [DWM] magazine

DWM is a business-to-business publication that’s devoted exclusively to coverage of the full door and window industries. From the latest breaking news to new products, technologies, industry research and insights, their stories include the top to bottom coverage that door and window professionals come to live by.

Facility Executive magazine

Facility Executive is a one-stop source for information on delivering quality design, operation and maintenance of facilities. Through its print magazine and website, Facility Executive provides content aimed at facility decision-makers. It seeks to address the diverse demands and interests of facility management professionals in various industry sectors.

Fenestration Review

Fenestration Review is a Canadian window and door magazine. They publish three issues per year and tie the market together with a website, twice-monthly email newsletters and the Fenestration Conversations podcast.

Glass magazine

While this NGA magazine does not have a LinkedIn page, they have a robust X account on which they post their latest fenestration news. Because NGA also hosts GlassBuild America, this is a great source for all things about the largest glass, window and door trade show in North America.

Glass Canada magazine

This magazine is Canada's business-to-business channel for the architectural glass industry. It serves Canada's architectural glass industry with six print magazine issues per year and online channels including a biweekly email newsletter, social media posts, the GlassTalk podcast and the Top Glass annual conference. They also recently began hosting the new Top Glass West!

Metal Architecture

Metal Architecture is an authority on the use of metal in architectural applications and building design, educating architects, design professionals and engineers engaged in new construction, retrofit, renovation and modernization of buildings.

Retrofit

This magazine’s focus is “improving yesterday for today,” or the renovation of existing commercial, industrial and institutional buildings. Their audience includes architects, facility managers, building owners and contractors.

USGlass magazine

Self-described as the magazine of record for architectural glass industry leaders, USGlass magazine is North America’s only glass industry monthly magazine and is devoted exclusively to the coverage of the glass and glazing market.

Window+Door magazine

Much like Glass, this NGA magazine is not on LinkedIn. However, you can find their news and updates about fenestration on X. This NGA pub also gives insights into GlassBuild America, hosted annually.
