The 2024 FGIA Summer Conference is approaching, and now is the time to get the best rate for attending this must-see experience in beautiful Montreal. The event is taking place at Le Westin Montreal from June 3-6 and we are excited to share what we have planned! The preliminary conference schedule is packed with a blend of technical content and unique networking in an engaging format.

Content highlights include sessions addressing embodied carbon, plastics regulations, natural disaster standards and testing, and our always popular codes and regulatory presentations. And we’ll be rolling up our sleeves, as always, during the many task group meetings to advance performance standards development for finished fenestration products, components and insulating glass. The last day of the event also features an interactive workshop on welding, bonding, ventilation and color for vinyl profiles.

Plus, the in-person conference is the best way to meet and make connections within the industry. Networking opportunities include a tour of a UL testing facility, several meals and receptions as well as an exciting scavenger hunt around the city culminating in dinner with an historic flair at a French restaurant.

Conference participants are invited to register for the UL laboratory tour taking place on June 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. UL will be providing views of its thermal test lab, material test lab, interior and exterior performance mock-up (PMU) labs and fenestration lab. There will also be a missile test demonstration. Limited space is available so be sure to sign up soon by contacting Events@FGIAonline.org.

The scavenger hunt provides an opportunity to get out and explore the beautiful city of Montreal while connecting with colleagues and creating fun memories. Work with your team on deciphering clues to identify the items and then navigate the city to find them. Once concluded, our “hunters” will head to a reception and dinner at the Espace Vieux-Port in the private Mont-Royal Room. This room boasts a large dance floor, so bring your dancing shoes and your best moves!

Another unique feature of this event is its proximity to an internationally appealing sports event. The conference’s theme, “Start Your Engines | On Track for Success,” is a nod to the Canadian Grand Prix, which will take place in the conference’s host city following the conclusion of the conference.

The in-person event is the place to be this June, but a virtual experience is available as well. Early bird rates are available through April 30 so register today!
