Looking Back on 2024
2024 was a big year for FGIA. We enhanced our new member database, released an updated edition of an important education program and developed or updated many technical documents critical to our industry’s success. From our must-attend events and trainings to our technical advancements and improvements, the Association took on a lot of projects that have positively impacted the industry. Let’s take a look back on the year that was as we make plans for what is to come in 2025.
We are so proud of the well-attended and high-value events we hosted throughout 2024. Covering important topics like EPDs and LCAs, understanding federal and state legislation on embodied carbon and “forever chemicals,” we helped keep our members at the forefront of the ever-changing marketplace. I am proud of the vast amount of work advanced by our task groups and committees during and between conferences, and the volume of new and revised documents that were published as a result.
Our team was also busy tracking a multitude of code and regulatory activity, not the least of which were the Canadian plastics registry and product performance research being conducted in Florida related to hurricane conditions. These are crucial developments for those in the industry, and we are proud to continue to monitor developments and share news with our members.
With our strategic plan’s high priority focus on education programs, we were thrilled to have released the third version of our FenestrationMasters Program, featuring updated content on performance standards and new modules addressing NAFS, insulating glass standards and Canadian codes. And to offer added flexibility for professionals in our industry, two of the FenestrationMasters modules are being offered a la carte.
2024 was also a big year for technology upgrades for our organization. Marked by more complete utilization of our new association management database, the launch of a new learning management system for our education programs, the upcoming release of our new online store and the planned 2025 unveiling of our new website, this year saw a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences while enhancing operational efficiencies.
All of these developments and ongoing improvements for our members make me feel optimistic for 2025. I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming Annual Conference or at another industry event soon!
