Field Testing for Commercial Fenestration Systems

Once products have been installed, how can you confirm they are performing as intended? Blom will share insights from , which outlines test methods for evaluating the performance of newly installed storefronts, curtain walls and sloped glazing systems. These tests provide reasonable assurance that the installed product is performing to the required air leakage and/or water penetration performance levels.

This interactive skills challenge focuses on best practices for proper residential window installation techniques, based on FMA/AAMA 100, Standard Practice for the Installation of Windows with Flanges or Mounting Fins in Wood Frame Construction for Extreme Wind/Water Conditions. Two stations will allow participants to test their talents at creating a flexible sill pan and applying self-adhering flashing.

IG Fabrication | Proper Sealant Mix and Insulating Glass Unit Flaws

This interactive skills challenge includes two stations from the popular two-and-a-half-day FGIA IG Fabricator Workshop, focused on ensuring proper sealant mix and identifying flaws in insulating glass units (IGUs). The forensic investigation performed at the workshop is a participant favorite and tests your knowledge of identifying failures to avoid these in the future and maximize the effectiveness of an IGU.
