The new Fundamentals of Insulating Glass program is now available! This content is also included in the FenestrationMasters 3.0 coursework.
This two-part bundle covers Glass Fundamentals and Insulating Glass.
This module of the professional certification training program explores the critical aspects of fenestration transparency and delves into the intricacies of glass functionality and selection criteria, examining various monolithic glass types. Glass Fundamentals provides insights into the glass manufacturing process and safety enhancements available. This module equips learners with robust knowledge and skills to excel in glass-related decision-making and compliance within the dynamic fenestration industry.
This module provides an in-depth look at insulating glass units (IGUs), critical for modern fenestration products. Learners will explore the structure and components of IGUs, such as spacers, desiccants and Low-e coatings, and their thermal performance benefits. The module also covers industry standards, performance requirements and testing guidelines to ensure long-term quality and performance. Additionally, the module addresses the impact of environmental factors on IGU integrity and explores customization options like muntins and internal blinds. By completing this module, learners will be equipped to evaluate and apply IGU technologies in various building applications.
$100 for members; $250 for non-members
The Insulating Glass subscription includes three months of unlimited access. A certificate of completion is provided when the program requirements are met.

For several years, IGMA sponsored a program for insulating glass (IG) manufacturers to increase the quality of IG units in the field. With the publishing of the Fundamentals of Insulating Glass course, this content has been sunset. However, IGMA TM-4100 continues to be available as a reference to minimize IG seal failures.
