The 20th GlassBuild America is getting closer. Not only is this a must-see event for the industry, it also serves as a great training ground for all levels of knowledge when it comes to glass and fenestration. FGIA is an association sponsor of the show and we are thrilled to be hosting two new education sessions at the show this year. Learn about performance of fenestration and glass when it comes to seismic movement and sit in on a session delivering insights on successfully managing product certification for fenestration manufacturers. If you haven’t already, register for GlassBuild now to participate.

Here are some session details:

Seismic Movement and Inter-story Drift

Performance Considerations for Fenestration and Glass

When: 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. on October 31
Speaker: Amy Becker, FGIA Glass Products Specialist

Description: Don't miss out on learning updated seismic performance requirements for glass and fenestration systems. An FGIA technical leader will outline the differences between, and important considerations for, three types of seismic movement as noted in AAMA 501.4 (seismic/wind-induced inter-story drift), 501.6 (seismic drift causing glass fallout) and 501.7 (vertical inter-story drift). The session will include updates on the latest shake table testing in addition to news of ongoing task group work for the three standards.

Need-to-Know Facts and Info about Product Certification

When: 4:00-4:45 p.m. on November 1
Speaker: Jason Seals, FGIA Certification Services Manager, Fenestration

Description: This is a can't miss session for any fenestration manufacturers and component suppliers. Hear from FGIA’s certification expert about updates to the North American Fenestration Standard (NAFS), impacts of certification program requirements and related changes to technical interpretations. The session will also cover what testing is required and how component testing factors into overall product certification, plus how certification benefits your business.

I am excited about these education sessions and everything else the tradeshow floor has to offer. See you in Atlanta!
