Registration is now open for the FGIA Fall Conference, and there are so many reasons to make sure you are there. From engaging on black color space research, completing interactive skills challenges, furthering the discussion on daylighting opportunities and networking during a beautiful day trip to Banff and a fun night out at a restaurant together, there is something for everyone.
Black Color Space Research
The Vinyl Material Council will be hosting a table in the registration area throughout the event, where conference attendees can assess digital black panels. Participants will view samples on color-corrected monitors and will determine, in their opinion, which samples reflect a black color change that would be acceptable to them on their home over time.
Skills Challenge
In the Fall Conference Skills Challenge, there will be two insulating glass-related stations and an installation station. For the IG challenge, participants will view pressed sealant samples to determine which have proper mix and which do not, and they’ll identify flaws in insulating glass units, which may include issues with edge seals or other potential deficiencies. The installation station focuses on proper application of self-adhering flashing, per InstallationMasters training.
Daylighting Talks Continue
And, the daylighting conversation we began at the Virtual Summer Summit will continue with an exploration into building code opportunities and challenges thanks to a presentation by Dr. Jennifer Veitch, a former researcher at National Research Council of Canada.
Fun Networking Events
For those who love site-seeing, consider arriving on Sunday to take advantage of Monday’s spectacular full-day guided scenic tour through Banff, which includes stops at Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, lunch and plenty of time for exploring. During our networking night out at National 10th restaurant, enjoy a bowling tournament, along with karaoke and arcade games. With a rock n’ roll theme, prizes will be given to those wearing their best “rock era” looks.
