The first installment of this series will provide a baseline understanding of the mechanics and benefits of a gas-filled sealed insulating glass unit. In a future session, we will delve into a more technically-advanced overview and demonstration of the gas filling process, including quality control testing and field testing.
Presenter: Randi Ernst, President - FDR Design
Randi is considered among the foremost experts in the gas filling of high-performance windows. His experience includes thirty-three years at FDR, where he has served as president and has also managed the company’s product development projects. These projects have included development of high-speed gas filling machines, single lance filling machines, in line fill percentage testers, in-situ sensors, and an air space laser.
Prior to founding FDR Design, he had experience in controls engineering, systems engineering, and robotics in industries including nuclear power, packaging, and computer manufacturing.
