FGIA events are the heart of FGIA membership. They are where our members can meet in person to talk about the issues that matter most and make future plans together. They’re also where documents and standards that guide our industry are developed and updated, by members and for members. Finally, they are where people who are newer to the industry can learn about a variety of topics in their new field and can ask questions of senior-level leaders. If you’ve never been to one of FGIA’s events before, read on for why you should make this the year you get to one – especially if you are a young professional.

FGIA Mentor Program

Did you know FGIA offers a mentorship program? If you are a first-time participant at an FGIA event, we will match you with a mentor. In this program, professionals are intentionally matched with seasoned veterans with similar specialties and interests. Mentees can receive guidance on how to get the most out of their FGIA involvement, build confidence and gain insights from their mentors’ experiences. This is the start of your chance to develop valuable relationships and gain a support system.

Effect Change from Within

FGIA members know a large benefit to membership is being able to have a say in the development and updating of industry standards and documents. Throughout our history of industry leadership, FGIA has become recognized for the development of comprehensive standards that provide third-party validation of product performance and quality. At FGIA events, you will have the unique opportunity to have a say in the development of the standards our industry follows.

Educational Content

FGIA has its finger on the pulse of the industry. If there is a hot topic being discussed, it will be part of our next event. Learn what’s new in the industry at FGIA conferences. After the event, consider furthering your industry knowledge through one of FGIA’s stellar education programs.

Meet Industry Experts

FGIA makes a point of recruiting the best possible subject matter experts for our events. That means you can get your questions answered by those with the most industry knowledge. Bring that wisdom back to your company and make yourself indispensable.

Networking

At FGIA events, everyone is on the same playing field. That means you can more easily network with senior level professionals, making connections that carry over to social media. FGIA offers optional networking events at every conference, ranging from whale watching in California to hands-on arts demonstrations in Indianapolis. And for those who enjoy a little friendly competition or just want to unwind, most of our conferences include a golf outing, providing a laid-back atmosphere where you can strike up conversations and form relationships over a round of golf.

Another valuable aspect of FGIA events can often be found in the hallway conversations. It’s in these informal, off-the-cuff chats that some of the most meaningful business relationships are formed. Whether you’re grabbing coffee between sessions or bumping into someone in the hallway, those impromptu moments often lead to the most genuine connections, where ideas are exchanged, collaborations are sparked and new opportunities unfold.

FGIA Staff

Get to know the people who work at FGIA at our events. Once you match a face to a name, you will have a better understanding of each person’s role and what questions they can answer. FGIA staff is always happy to help, and we love welcoming new faces!
