Every once in a while, we hear from members that they are not receiving email communications from FGIA. Most of the time, it’s an easy fix. There are a few solutions you can try to ensure you are getting newsletters, conference call notices, ballots, event announcements and more from the Association. Follow these simple steps to make sure our emails arrive in your inbox every time.

Check Your Email Preferences

As an FGIA member, you should already be receiving FGIA e-News, our monthly newsletter and general roundup of FGIA-related articles and announcements from the previous month.

FGIA uses MailChimp to send these newsletters as well as many of our other communications. This form allows individuals to opt into different communications, including FGIA e-News, regional newsletters, reminders about open ballots, announcements about new and updated publications, AAMA Product Certification bulletins, event information and more.

Please note: you can fill out this form even if you are not already in our member database. However, unless you are listed in the database, you will not actually receive anything, since our database is how we generate our email distribution lists. (See the Contact Us section below for details on ensuring you are in our database).

Make Sure You Haven’t Accidentally Unsubscribed

If at some point you have unsubscribed, intentionally or not, filling out this form will get you back on the list. Unfortunately, FGIA staff is unable to complete this step on your behalf – only you can give permission for FGIA to contact you again. This is a short process to verify your information and preferences to get back on our list.

Check Your Spam or Junk Folder

Sometimes MailChimp messages get sorted into spam or junk (or even the promotions tab on Gmail). If you find our emails there, mark them as “not spam” or “not junk” (or move them to your primary inbox) to help future messages arrive correctly.

Add FGIA to Your Safe Sender List

To prevent company firewalls or security settings from bouncing our emails, add our domain (fgiaonline.org) to your safe sender or whitelist. This tells your email system that our messages are trusted.

Contact Us if You’re Still Having Issues

FGIA customer service can check your subscription status to see if an email sent to you has “bounced.” Contact [email protected] and ask us to check for this. If this is the case, you may need to talk to your IT department and have our emails whitelisted (see previous step). It will be helpful to inform them that these communications come from MailChimp.

We want to make sure you stay in the loop with all the latest FGIA news, events and committee and task group updates. Following these simple steps and keeping your preferences up to date will ensure you are getting the most out of your membership. Don’t wait. Take these steps today!
