AIA-Approved Education
FGIA, an AIA-approved continuing education provider and the leading trade association in the fenestration industry, has been offering continuing education since 2000. AIA members are required to earn 18 continuing education learning units each year, which includes 12 hours of coursework in Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW) topics. Plus, several states have established their own continuing education requirements for licensed architects, many of which recognize AIA credits. FGIA offers multiple options to obtain these credits.
Your time is valuable. That's why we offer the following distance courses that are accessible at your convenience.

AIA and ICC Approved Credits
The AIA accepts the FenestrationAssociate and FenestrationMaster coursework as 12 and 14.5 LUs/HSWs, respectively. Completion of the courses allows professionals to fulfill most of the annual requirement for AIA continuing education (18 LU/12 HSW hours), while also earning a professional certification.
In addition to AIA education offerings, FGIA is an International Code Council (ICC) approved provider offering FenestrationAssociate and FenestrationMaster coursework as 1.2 and 1.45 continuing education credits, respectively, which may be self reported to the ICC.
All AIA-accredited, FGIA-approved courses allow architects, specifiers and other professionals to expand their knowledge of the fenestration industry. For more information, contact AIAeducation@FGIAonline.org.
In April 2023, FGIA sunsetted it's program offering online and in-person presentations of NAFS-11 and NAFS-17 for AIA credit. If you were an approved presenter for this program that still wishes to offer these courses independently of FGIA please contact education@fgiaonline.org for more information.
