The Top 5 Blog Posts, News Articles on the FGIA Website in 2024
As was the case for many of our members, 2024 was a busy one for FGIA. We wanted to share some highlights, including a roundup of the most popular news articles and blog posts that ran on FGIA’s website this year. The publication of several updated FGIA documents and FGIA conferences throughout the year dominated in the news section of our site, while Trade Secrets continued its reign as FGIA’s most clicked among the Association’s three monthly blogs. Read on to see what our members wanted to know about most in 2024.

- FGIA Releases Updated Anodized Architectural Aluminum Specification: The 2024 edition of AAMA 611, Specification for Anodized Architectural Aluminum, was published in September. The 2024 standard replaces the 2020 edition and included changes made include testing information for a corrosion resistance procedure. It was updated by the Anodized Specification Task Group under the direction of the AMC Finishes Committee.
- Registration Now Open for the 2024 FGIA Annual Conference: In January, the FGIA Events Team opened registration for the 2024 FGIA Annual Conference, which took place February 19-22 in Amelia Island, FL. On a related note, registration for the 2025 Annual Conference in Orlando is now open!
- FGIA Updates Specification for Rotary, Linear Operations in Window Applications: In September, FGIA released an updated specification establishing methods of test cover procedures, materials and performance criteria for determining the durability of gear type rotary and linear operating devices used for opening and closing casement, awning, jalousie, jal-awning and other similar types of windows. AAMA 901-24, Specification for Rotary and Linear Operations in Window Applications, had last been updated in 2016.
- FGIA Releases 2024 Market Studies, Offers Forecast of Fenestration Industry Trends: Each spring, FGIA releases updated market information. In May, the FGIA 2024/2025 Study of the U.S. Market for Windows, Doors and Skylights came out.
- Registration Now Open for the 2024 FGIA Fall Conference: In July, the Events Team announced the opening of registration of the final FGIA conference of the year: the Fall Conference, which was held in Minneapolis, MN.
