As part of FGIA’s objective focused on delivering purposeful and valued events, the Summer Conference will be transitioned into a fully virtual event beginning in 2025, allowing for a focus on two in-person conferences each year: the FGIA Annual Conference and the FGIA Fall Conference. This announcement was initially communicated in December of 2023 and again during the opening general session at this month’s 2024 Summer Conference in Montreal, QC. We are excited to share the concept with everyone and tell you what we have planned so far!

First, it is important to understand that this new format for the summer event will not simply transfer the in-person conference structure to an online experience. Instead, it will be entirely different and will focus on delivering high-value information through speakers, industry reports and presentations. Think of it as an extended version of an FGIA regional event, during which participants hear the latest updates and news from various speakers and industry key players. Two tracks will be offered with topics addressing residential and commercial markets. Within these tracks we will be covering fenestration, insulating glass, components, testing, codes and regulations topics. Because the goal is to deliver a learning experience addressing the most critical topics to our industry and our members, there will not be working meetings in the schedule.

Additionally, the overall schedule will be shorter than an in-person conference – most likely two days with a couple of concurrent tracks spanning over roughly five hours each day. The shorter program and online format will also prompt development of a modified sponsorship menu and reduced registration fee schedule.

In summation, here is what you can expect from this revamped event schedule:

  • Different format than in-person conference
  • High-value information through speakers, industry reports and presentations
  • Shorter two-day event spanning five hours each day
  • Residential and commercial tracks of content addressing fenestration, glass, components, testing, codes and regulations
  • Modified menu of sponsorship options
  • Reduced registration fee schedule

This first virtual Summer Conference will take place June 16-18, 2025. Keep an eye on the FGIA events page for further details!
