AAMA conferences have always been a crucial way for the industry to get a temperature check on what’s relevant in the field. The upcoming Fall Conference in Greenville, SC, (October 15-18) is no exception and will feature a series of roundtable discussions, seminars and workshops geared toward professional development and industry knowledge.

In addition to presenting two addresses, keynote speaker Brian Fielkow will host two roundtable discussions on related matters. His first address, “’Driving to Perfection’ - Strong on the Inside, Unbreakable on the Outside,” will take place on Monday afternoon, and his second, “’Leading People Safely’ - How to Win on the Business Battlefield,” will be held Tuesday morning. Two roundtable discussions relating to the keynote addresses, as well as his business expertise, will also take place Tuesday.

These aren’t the only workshops happening during the Fall Conference. Dan Lavrich, Owner of Lavrich & Associates, and Meryl Williams, AAMA Communications Coordinator, will also be speaking.

Lavrich will offer two sections of his very timely presentation, “Wind, Water, Codes, Coverage, Myths & Reality.” Wind and water damage from high wind events, particularly relating to fenestrations and the building envelope, will be discussed. Lavrich will view this timely topic through the lenses of things like design, codes, construction and insurance issues. This session will be offered both Monday and Tuesday.

Williams will give a presentation on the social networking site, LinkedIn, called “7 Actions You Can Take Today to Improve and Protect Your LinkedIn Profile.” Her two workshops will cover topics like why users should care about LinkedIn, the impact of a profile picture, opportunities users could be missing within their current profiles and more. The sessions will conclude with a preview about Twitter as well as time for attendees to ask questions. These sessions offer a chance for hands-on assistance with LinkedIn. Other social media platforms will be covered at future conference workshops.

Take advantage of these speakers’ knowledge while attending the AAMA Fall Conference and save the date for future events as well.
