If you operate in the state of California, you may have heard by now that changes are coming down the pike for Proposition 65 this summer. Officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, Prop 65 requires the state to maintain and update a list of chemicals known to the state to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity, and new labeling is being implemented August 30. These requirements may have a direct impact on your business.

An AAMA webinar will be held August 7 at 11:30 a.m. Eastern, to provide guidance on strategies for complying with the new Prop 65 labeling requirements. This webinar, led by Attorney John Nolan of the Gary Law Group, is sponsored by the AAMA Western Region. It will provide an overview of Prop 65, review the new labeling requirements focusing on challenges faced by fenestration manufacturers and delivering solutions for compliance. Nolan will also answer questions from those who attend the webinar. Register now.

We know it’s important to make sure those participating in AAMA’s Western Region activities are up to speed on these changes, and the Western Region Board is committed to communicating them. Learn more about Prop 65 and its requirements on the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) website.

Send your specific challenges and/or your company’s solutions to education@aamanet.org for possible inclusion in the webinar. Registration is open.
